Paola Soulejmanovic, 33, was arrested today on outstanding charges unrelated to the fatal traffic incident involving her son. She is the mother of two of the four minors in the car that struck and killed Cecilia De Astis last August 11. One of her sons, aged 13, was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
Local police apprehended Soulejmanovic in the gardens on Viale Cermenate. She was subsequently taken to San Vittore prison to serve a combined sentence of three years and ten months for a series of thefts committed between 2017 and 2019. At the time of her arrest, she was found in possession of over 130 grams of gold jewelry and more than €1,500 in cash. She has also been charged with receiving stolen property.
