The “challenge” of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics also concerns the legacy “left behind” for the region, according to Italy’s Minister for Sport, Andrea Abodi. Speaking at a panel dedicated to the Games at the Rimini Meeting today, Abodi stated, “There is the sense of reaping the fruits of the labor after an organizational sowing period that involves not just the Games but also infrastructure.” He emphasized that the 2026 Olympics are “a date with history,” placing Italy “at the center of the world.” The Minister concluded, “This Italian model of ours will be ready when the time is right.”
