AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has described the team’s opening day loss to Cremonese as an “unexpected defeat,” while turning his attention to the challenging away fixture against Lecce. Speaking at a press conference, Allegri analyzed the 2-0 home loss, stating, “With more attention on the goal-scoring episodes, we could have secured a victory. We conceded two goals from the two mistakes we made in the ninety minutes. We must reduce, if not eliminate, errors.”
Looking ahead to the second Serie A match, Allegri acknowledged the difficulty of the trip to Lecce, noting the opponent plays “fast, very organized football, and playing there is never easy.” He also confirmed the squad will be without Rafael Leao and new injury concern Noah Armani Jashari, who was hurt in a training collision with Mateo Musacchio (Gimenez) and will be unavailable. “I don’t yet know who will play,” Allegri concluded regarding his team selection.
