Doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, and administrative staff of the Azienda Ospedaliera dei Colli in Naples—which includes the Monaldi, Cotugno, and CTO hospitals—have chosen to join a day of fasting against the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
The personnel were seen holding a sign that read, ‘Fasting against the genocide in Gaza,’ expressing their solidarity with the civilian populations affected by the conflict and reaffirming the universal values of care, solidarity, and life.
“The fast is a symbol,” explained General Director Anna Iervolino, “of sharing the pain and of concrete closeness to those who suffer, who fight for their lives and for those of their loved ones in a condition of extreme deprivation. Ours is not just an individual act, but the collective manifestation of women and men who, inside and outside hospitals, choose not to remain indifferent. The Azienda Ospedaliera dei Colli thus joins the chorus of voices calling for peace, respect for human rights, and the protection of every person’s dignity.”
Once again, the women and men of the Colli hospital group have chosen unity, transforming silence into voice and daily care into a concrete sign of civic engagement.
