A 57-year-old man died in an ambulance while being transported to hospital after Italian Carabinieri officers used a taser to subdue him during an arrest in Olbia. The incident occurred late Saturday night in the Santa Mariedda district. Officers responded to reports of the man, originally from Sassari, causing panic in the street, reportedly assaulting passersby, and then attacking the Carabinieri themselves when they arrived on the scene. The taser was deployed to stop his violent outburst.
