Riace mayor and European Parliament member for the Avs party, Mimmo Lucano, has expressed strong support for Pasquale Tridico’s political efforts in Calabria. In a statement to ANSA, Lucano revealed a recent conversation, quoting Tridico as having told him, “Mimmo, I’m in, I’m in.”
Lucano recounted meeting Tridico in Brussels, describing him as a person who has “demonstrated his worth through deeds,” specifically citing his management of the citizen’s income program and his particular attention to the most vulnerable social groups and deprived inland areas like Riace.
“I believe that the entire left will unite around Pasquale Tridico, thanks to the policies he has implemented,” Lucano stated. He hailed Tridico as “the clean face of Calabria” and issued an appeal “to all people who identify with these values” and to the entire centre-left, urging them to provide a unified and genuine response to offer hope for the region.
“Divisions help no one,” Lucano asserted. “Our goal must be to defeat the right and rebuild the Region, proving that another Calabria is possible.”
