Hotel occupancy across Italy’s Liguria region is nearing capacity for the upcoming Ferragosto holiday weekend, averaging 97%. Current bookings in the region’s main municipalities range between 96% and 98%.
Specifically, covering the period from August 14th to 17th, occupancy rates stand at 97.2% in Imperia province, 98.3% in Savona province, 96.4% in Genoa province, and 95.7% in La Spezia province.
“The Ferragosto period confirms Liguria’s ability to attract visitors across its entire territory,” stated Regional Tourism Councilor Luca Lombardi. “We’re not just talking about the coast: the hinterland and art cities are also recording very positive numbers, thanks to a diverse offering ranging from cultural and musical events to traditional festivals, excursions, food and wine, and outdoor activities. These results align with the strong spring holiday bookings, which already showed high interest in Liguria. Our strategy of distributing tourist flows between the Riviera and the hinterland, combined with a calendar of quality initiatives, is the path we will continue to work on to ensure visitors beyond the summer season and showcase our region’s full richness.”
“For the month of August,” commented Aldo Werdin, President of Federalberghi Liguria, “we forecast average regional occupancy exceeding 95%, driven by excellent bookings ahead of Ferragosto, which falls in a particularly favorable period this year. Positive weather forecasts are boosting demand. The presence of steadily increasing foreign tourists is also very positive, confirming the trend of recent years and significantly contributing to the summer season’s vitality.”
