Angelo Bonelli, a deputy for the Left-Green Alliance (AVS) and co-spokesperson for Europa Verde, has publicly called on Antonio Decaro to join their coalition. Speaking at the AVS national festival in Rome, Bonelli stated they are not asking for Decaro to “step back,” but are instead making “an appeal for him to take a step forward and win the elections together with us.” Bonelli declared that AVS would be Decaro’s “best allies” and the “best guarantee of the break with the past” that he has invoked. Echoing this sentiment, AVS deputy and SI leader Nicola Fratoianni said, “We are asking you to move forward together,” while clarifying that the alliance would not withdraw its existing candidacies, which he described as a “valuable contribution.”
