Padua, Italy – Alberto Stefani, the League party’s deputy secretary, thwarted a violent assault against a woman by a man inside a moving vehicle. Stefani himself reported the incident, which occurred at approximately 7:40 PM on State Road 16 near Battaglia Terme in the province of Padua, on his Facebook profile.
“While I was on my way to a conference in the Padua area,” wrote Stefani, “I noticed that a brutal aggression against a woman was taking place in the car in front of me. A man in the back seat was repeatedly beating her.”
Stefani stated that he followed the vehicle and immediately alerted the Carabinieri. “Within seconds, they intervened and stopped the assault. For this, I thank them from the bottom of my heart,” he said. He subsequently provided a witness statement and submitted video evidence of the man’s conduct to the military police, who apprehended the alleged aggressor.
“Let it be clear: whoever touches a woman touches all of us,” Stefani concluded. He also posted one of the videos he provided to the authorities on his social network.
