The Lazio Region launches its “Easy Digital Points” campaign on Wednesday, August 20th, aiming to strengthen citizens’ basic digital skills. This initiative seeks to simplify access to digital services and enhance quality of life through responsible technology use. Funded under Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) as part of the “Digital Facilitation Services Network,” the project represents a €12 million investment.
The goal is to reach 231,000 citizens by 2026 through a widespread network of over 220 Easy Digital Points across the region. Locations include municipal offices, job centers, health districts, libraries, schools, and non-profit organizations. The program already shows significant success: 222 points are operational, over 250 are registered regionally, and 95,000 citizens have participated to date.
Staffed by trained “digital facilitators,” these points offer practical assistance and training to residents aged 18-74. They help people access and use online services and digital devices. Facilitators not only aim to improve digital literacy and reduce the digital divide but also promote autonomous, aware, and responsible use of new technologies. This fosters full enjoyment of active digital citizenship rights and encourages use of online public administration services, simplifying citizen-government interaction.
The campaign uses clear, effective, and ironic multi-platform communication to promote the service to all age groups, highlighting common digital challenges. Its tagline, “There’s a point where digital is easy,” addresses practical issues like online payments, activating a certified email (PEC), or using digital services. It will run across various formats: TV/web videos, radio, social media, static/dynamic billboards, and online news outlets.
