Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri offered a scathing assessment of his team’s performance following their loss to Como, stating the contest was lost on technical quality, not physicality. “Today the match was unbalanced, and it wasn’t a physical difference,” Sarri said. “We made our legs run; they made the ball run.”
The coach attributed the defeat to a combination of technical mistakes and illogical decision-making against a side known for their possession-based game. “It was truly a bad match against a team we knew was very technical in their passing,” Sarri continued. “We did nothing of what we had decided to do. If I look at today’s game, technically, Lazio is inferior to Como.”
Expressing hope that the performance was an anomaly, Sarri concluded, “We hope it was just a bad day on our part and that this gap is not real. We are what we are, and we have to move forward with these players; everything else is an alibi. You can also be poor, but not like what we saw today.”
