The City of Latina and Latina Calcio 1932 have signed a temporary concession contract for the use of the municipal Domenico Francioni stadium and the “Ex Fulgorcavi” football field. The agreement was signed by Mayor Matilde Celentano, Heritage Councillor Ada Nasti, official Alessandra Pacifico, and the president of Latina Calcio 1932, Antonio Terracciano.
“This contract provides a concrete response to the city and its fanbase,” stated Mayor Celentano, “allowing the team to play its home games at the Domenico Francioni stadium while we work towards a multi-year assignment for the facility. This important step is the result of a joint effort between the administration and the sports club, confirming our commitment to promoting sport as a tool for social and identity cohesion.”
Heritage Councillor Ada Nasti announced, “We have finally reached a temporary six-month concession, pending a public tender for the long-term assignment. After a first tender received no bids, this direct agreement was made possible through negotiations with Latina Calcio 1932.” Nasti confirmed the club has already paid the first bi-monthly concession fee and secured the required insurance, adding that the club will also cover ordinary maintenance costs for the concession’s duration. The administration has also requested the club introduce a reduced ticket price for youth, a proposal the club has accepted.
Sports Councillor Andrea Chiarato confirmed the administration is preparing a new public tender for the stadium’s long-term management. Simultaneously, the city has allocated €500,000 for the refurbishment of the stadium’s facade, a long-awaited project of great symbolic value. Chiarato also noted that planning continues for the redevelopment of the Ex Fulgorcavi field, which will be renamed after Gino Bondioli. “The goal,” he concluded, “is to restore full dignity to the city’s sports facilities so they can continue to be places of community, growth, and passion.”
