In his first interview as an AS Roma player, defender Kostas Tsimikas stated, “I am happy to be here. From the beginning, when I saw that a club like Roma wanted me, I was very happy. This is a new chapter for me and my family, which is why I am extremely content to be here and I can’t wait to get started. I already feel at home.”
Reflecting on the negotiations that brought him to the Italian capital from Liverpool, he added, “I spoke a couple of times with the Sporting Director on a video call, and he explained to me how special it is to play for this club. For my part, I want to thank the president for making this transfer possible. It is thanks to him that I am here. When a club like this calls you, you don’t have to think about it much.”
Tsimikas also shared his thoughts on working with coach Daniele De Rossi, having faced him when the manager was a player. “I think he is a special coach, and I have always had the desire to come here to be trained by him and learn from him.”
In a related move, Roma have also officially announced the permanent transfer of Ebrima Darboe to Bari.
