A judge for preliminary hearings (GUP) in Rome has approved plea bargains for former Juventus executives as part of the ‘Prisma’ investigation into alleged false accounting in player transfers. The plea agreements, which range from 11 months to one year and eight months (suspended sentences), involve former chairman Andrea Agnelli, former vice-president Pavel Nedved, and former sporting director Fabio Paratici, among others. The judge, Anna Maria Gavoni, dismissed the case against another former Juventus manager, Maurizio Arrivabene.
The charges in the proceeding included market rigging (aggiotaggio), obstructing regulatory oversight, and false accounting. Specifically, the court approved a sentence of one year and eight months for Agnelli, one year and two months for Nedved, and one year and six months for Paratici. Two other defendants received 11-month sentences.
Furthermore, the Juventus football club itself was fined €156,000. It has also been reported that a third of the more than 200 civil plaintiffs have reached a settlement agreement with the club for a total compensation amount of €1.08 million.
