Jacopo Fo Releases AI-Generated Pop Song “Pipì, Pupù, Papà” on Modern Fatherhood

Italian artist Jacopo Fo has unveiled a surreal, tender, and ironic pop song titled “Pipì, Pupù, Papà,” created through an artificial intelligence-assisted experiment. Developed with young Marche-based AI expert Federica Nardi, the track features Fo’s voice completely reconstructed and transformed by AI technology. Its accompanying video clip, also AI-generated, depicts a series of virtual children.

Presented exclusively to ANSA at Fo’s historic residence within the Libera Università di Alcatraz—a pioneering ecology, art, and shared culture project he founded in the mid-1970s—the song is nestled in the hills of Perugia province. Fo explained its origin: inspired by the birth of a child, the piece evolved from his initial recording through dozens of AI-processed versions into a final musical track. Significant effort was dedicated to crafting precise AI video prompts to ensure ethical compliance and avoid ambiguity.

“Artificial intelligence is merely a tool,” Fo stated. “Real intelligence must come from you. While this song is playful, it carries a message about the ongoing cultural revolution: fathers changing diapers and caring for newborn children.” The track will soon be available on major digital platforms.
