An Italian tourist sustained injuries during an attempted robbery in Buenos Aires while en route to the airport to catch her return flight to Milan. According to Infobae news portal, Silvia Robles was hospitalized at Cecilia Grierson Hospital in Villa Lugano with facial lacerations and contusions caused by a brick thrown at her taxi’s window.
A relative reported that three individuals—believed to be minors—hurled the brick to force the vehicle to stop for a robbery. The attack occurred near a ring road connecting to Ricchieri Highway, which leads to Ezeiza International Airport.
Italy’s embassy confirmed to ANSA that the Consulate General in Buenos Aires, through its Morón Consular Agency, “immediately engaged with local authorities and contacted the victim’s family directly to express solidarity and provide full assistance.”
