Italian Foreign Minister Claims Ignorance of Israeli Visa Revocation for Officials

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated that the government was unaware of Israel’s decision to revoke service passport visas for certain Italian officials until the announcement was made public. The comment came as Tajani spoke with reporters in the Senate, responding to the revelation by Giuseppe De Cristofaro, the parliamentary group leader of the Left-Green Alliance (Avs). When questioned about potential countermeasures, Minister Tajani replied, “Countermeasures and decisions are taken after one understands what has happened.” He concluded by stating that he must first “verify” the details of the situation.
