On the afternoon of September 2nd, a C-130 aircraft belonging to the Israeli Air Force made a technical landing at the U.S. Navy Air Station in Sigonella, Catania. The stop was part of a pre-authorized training and logistical support mission for refueling, conducted in accordance with Italian and international regulations. The Italian Defense Staff stated that the aircraft was carrying only technical-logistical personnel and was not transporting any materiel or equipment. During the approximately three-and-a-half-hour stop, the plane received exclusively logistical support from U.S. personnel at the base. The Defense Staff further emphasized that the use of Italian airspace and military infrastructure is conducted in full compliance with the national legal framework and existing international agreements.
