JERUSALEM, Sept 4 (ANSA-AFP) – Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated that a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron will not take place unless France abandons its plans to recognize a Palestinian state.
The minister conveyed this position in a phone call with French diplomat Jean-Noel Barrot, declaring there is “no space” for such a visit “as long as France persists in its initiative and its efforts that damage the national and security interests of Israel.”
According to the minister, Paris should “reconsider its initiative” to recognize a Palestinian state by the end of the month, warning that such a move would, among other things, undermine regional stability.
