The Intesa Sanpaolo’s “Banca dei Territori” division, led by Stefano Barrese, has raised approximately €60 million in support of 350 non-profit organizations. This funding was facilitated through its impact division, directed by Andrea Lecce. From 2017 to June of this year, over 500 high-social-value projects have been supported via the digital platform For Funding, thanks to donations from both the bank’s clients and the bank itself.
The impact division provides support to more than 100,000 Third Sector entities, disbursing around €300 million annually in concessional credit. This funding is dedicated to projects aiding society’s most vulnerable segments through inclusive, accessible, and innovative financial instruments. The supported initiatives offer concrete opportunities for families, young people, precarious workers, and vulnerable individuals, facilitating access to essential needs such as housing, healthcare, education, and job placement.
Alongside these financial instruments operates the digital platform For Funding, Italy’s leading crowdfunding site. Forfunding.com proved particularly instrumental during the Covid-19 health emergency, raising €5.3 million for social and healthcare projects.
Beyond providing the platform’s services, Intesa Sanpaolo promotes the “Formula” program. The bank supports fundraising campaigns through its official channels and contributes directly by devolving a flat €2 donation for many products purchased online by its clients. This model amplifies project visibility and multiplies the social impact of donations, a effort further strengthened by the involvement of the regional directorates within the Banca dei Territori division.
