The husband of Liliana Resinovich has stated that if Claudio Sterpin, a friend of Liliana’s, “has something to say, he should say it to the investigators.” Appearing on the program ‘Dentro la notizia’ on Canale 5, the husband, Visintin, issued a direct challenge, adding, “We are ready, also with my lawyers: when the time comes, we will play our aces.”
Visintin, referring to Sterpin’s comments about his relationship with the deceased woman, claimed to have his own information. “We have certain reconstructions, certain things. We always say ‘let him talk, you’ll see that sooner or later something will come out’,” he stated.
Regarding his wife’s death, Visintin said, “I am convinced that something happened to Liliana, we still don’t know if it was a suicide or a murder. There are no elements that can point one way or the other.” He asserted his own innocence, declaring, “I am serene and calm. I have nothing to do with the disappearance of my wife.” He expressed that his feeling towards a potential killer would be one of “contempt” for “having ruined my life and 32 years spent together.”
Liliana Resinovich disappeared from her home on December 14, 2021. Her body was discovered on January 5 of the following year in a wooded area near the former psychiatric hospital in Trieste. It was found sealed inside two black bags—one placed over her head and the other covering her feet—with an additional bag secured over her head with a cord.
