The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has claimed responsibility for what it described as a raid this morning on a recently established Israeli military post southeast of Khan Younis. The group asserted that its fighters killed an Israeli “tank commander” and that one of its operatives “detonated himself amidst Israeli soldiers,” resulting in casualties. The Israeli military has denied this version of events, specifically refuting the occurrence of a suicide bombing. In its statement, Israel confirmed three soldiers were wounded and stated that its forces killed ten militants in the engagement. This incident is reported to be the largest attack against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war.
