The future of tennis is on display at Rome’s Tc Parioli club, hosting the Italian Under 14 Male Championships – Federico Luzzi Trophy for the second consecutive year. The tournament, which features the nation’s top young talents, will conclude with the singles and doubles finals on Sunday, September 7th. Promoted by the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation (FITP), the event is a fundamental stage in the athletes’ development and offers fans and technicians a week of high-level tennis.
The competition is named in honor of Federico Luzzi, the Italian tennis player who represented the club in the Serie A championship before his life was tragically cut short by acute leukemia at just 28 years old. Consequently, AIL (the Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma) is a key promoter and supporter of the event.
An inaugural dinner for sponsors, Federation representatives, club partners, and guests was held to mark the tournament’s opening. The event served as a convivial kickoff, celebrating the support of all those who make the championships possible. Attendance was high, featuring club President Paolo Cerasi, Vice President Roberto De Lieto, and numerous directors and officials.
Also in attendance were Stefano and Francesca Cobolli, parents of Italian champion Flavio Cobolli. The star player, having just landed at Fiumicino airport from the US Open, came to the club to watch the matches, sign autographs, and cheer on the young competitors.
