Massimo Moratti, the former president of FC Internazionale Milano, has been extubated and is now breathing autonomously as his condition improves. He remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano, where he is being treated for pneumonia.
Clinicians, who are proceeding with great caution, made the decision to remove mechanical respiratory support this morning due to Moratti’s progressive improvement. He is being kept under close observation. The former Inter president was able to speak for several minutes with his wife, Milly, his children, and his sister, Bedy.
Moratti was admitted to intensive care at the beginning of last week with a case of pneumonia described as a complex clinical picture. He celebrated his 80th birthday this past May. In 2023, he underwent an angioplasty procedure at the Galeazzi hospital in Milan.
