Two men snatched a Rolex from a tourist in the famous piazzetta of Portofino, only to discover the watch was a counterfeit. Carabinieri officers, who intervened immediately, apprehended the two individuals. They filed charges solely against the man who physically committed the theft. Subsequent police checks confirmed the luxury timepiece was a fake. The owner of the counterfeit watch opted not to press charges.
