Exhibition ‘Mediterranea, Where the Wind Writes’ Features Photography by Simona Manganaro

A collection of thirty-two photographs—ten in black and white and twenty-two in color—featuring portraits and seaside vistas that depict dunes, white lilies, and “faces emerging from the salty light” will be displayed in the exhibition “Mediterranea, Where the Wind Writes” by Simona Manganaro. The show is scheduled to run from September 13 to 21 at the Mediterranea venue, located within the Capocotta Nature Reserve on the coastline between Ostia and Torvajanica near Rome.

The opening event will take place on Saturday, September 13 at 5:30 PM.

Simona Manganaro, who “has spent years sensitively exploring the complexity and irreducibility of human beings,” according to the organizers, returns with a visual narrative following her documentary “Via dei Villini” on Somali political refugees, the iconotext “Tracce a Esse” (Pathos Editions), and the essay “Arte e Follia” (Jouvence).

The Mediterranea, which hosts the exhibition, is described as “a stretch of coast that unites nature and culture; founded on solid principles of environmental sustainability, biodiversity protection, and social inclusion.” Its free beach is accessible to all without barriers, hosts cultural activities, and includes an active Legambiente club, “making it a reference point for those who wish to experience the sea as a place of sharing and harmony.”
