Ecuadorian Man Stabs Brother-in-Law to Death in Milan Arrest

Milan police have arrested 29-year-old Josè Bryan Vera Siguenza for fatally stabbing his brother-in-law, Gabriel Jefferson Garcia Jimenez, 32, during a violent altercation Saturday night. The incident occurred on Piazzale Ferrara in the Corvetto district.

Investigators report the confrontation stemmed from Siguenza’s allegations that Garcia Jimenez abused Siguenza’s sister. Police are working to verify this motive and establish the precise sequence of events.

Emergency services responded to reports of the attack shortly before midnight, finding Garcia Jimenez critically wounded on the street. The suspect had fled the scene. Officers from the Vigentino station and mobile units gathered witness accounts, including from minors present, leading to Siguenza’s apprehension approximately 200 meters away. He subsequently confessed to the stabbing.

The seized knife used in the attack was recovered. Despite being rushed to Niguarda Hospital, Garcia Jimenez succumbed to his severe injuries, with resuscitation attempts proving futile. Police indicate tensions between the two Ecuadorian nationals had existed for some time, specifically regarding alleged spousal abuse.

This marks the latest homicide in Corvetto, a neighborhood previously shaken by the death of 19-year-old Ramy Elgaml during a police pursuit last autumn and the August 15th killing of 73-year-old Vincenzo Ferrigno. In that case, 64-year-old Antonia Nunzia Mancini admitted to stabbing her bedridden partner multiple times and suffocating him with a pillow at their Via Pomposa home before calling police.
