A utility vehicle was stolen from Campomarino Lido, but it belongs to a disabled man from Benevento who has launched a desperate appeal to the thieves: “Please return my car. It is essential for me to get to the Gemelli Hospital in Rome for the continuous check-ups I must undergo.”
The 55-year-old man, who is retired due to physical disabilities and relies on a device for bone marrow electrostimulation, is now left without the car, which is vital for reaching the specialist facility in Rome. The car, which was being used by his son to visit Campomarino Lido, was stolen from a parking lot in the coastal town center during the night of August 19-20, at approximately 2 a.m.
Now stranded in Benevento and unable to travel to the Policlinico Gemelli for checks on his medical implant, the retiree is pleading with the criminals to return the Fiat Panda. “I am one hundred percent disabled,” he told ANSA, “and now, without the car, I am having great difficulty getting to my medical appointments.”
His son has reported the theft to the Carabinieri, who have opened an investigation.
