The death toll from a road accident involving a truck, a bus, and a motorcycle in Afghanistan’s western Herat province has risen to at least 76. Provincial governor’s spokesman Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi confirmed the figure, stating that seventy-six people “lost their lives” and a further three are in critical condition. The bus was carrying Afghan migrants returning from Iran and was traveling to the capital, Kabul. Most of the victims were aboard the bus, in addition to two people in the truck and two others on the motorcycle.
