Giuseppe Conte stated that if the center-left coalition were to win in all of Southern Italy’s regions, it would constitute a powerful political signal for the government, one that would be difficult to underestimate in Rome. The former prime minister made the remarks upon arriving in Naples for the presentation of the center-left’s presidential candidate for the Campania region.
The coalition’s first electoral event was held in the heart of the Spanish Quarters. Conte, who thanked all the coalition’s parties, was joined by Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi. Mayor Manfredi secured his landmark victory at Palazzo San Giacomo four years ago with a coalition that also included the Five Star Movement.
