The city of Caltanissetta has witnessed an outpouring of solidarity to repurchase an electric scooter for a Bangladeshi rose seller. A fundraising effort gathered the necessary sum in just a few hours for Abdul Basid, a well-known and well-liked street vendor long nicknamed “Rosario” by the community.
The young man had purchased the electric scooter through considerable sacrifice, funding it with his earnings from selling roses in the evenings and other items during the day. Yesterday, however, the scooter was stolen while he was inside a bar selling his flowers, leaving him stranded. After some people accompanied him to the police station to file a report, a spontaneous wave of support erupted on social media. The new scooter will be presented to him tomorrow at 8 PM at a shop on Via Xiboli in Caltanissetta.
