A multi-vehicle pileup occurred on the afternoon of [date] on the Romea state highway in Porto Garibaldi, in the province of Ferrara. According to initial reports, three cars traveling towards Venice were involved in the incident, resulting in nine casualties, including four minors.
The most seriously injured was a young girl, who was airlifted by helicopter to the ‘Maggiore’ hospital in Bologna in grave condition. The other travelers are reported to have sustained no critical injuries.
Preliminary reconstructions from local media suggest two cars—one carrying two people and another with a single occupant—were stopped in the roadway waiting to turn when a third vehicle struck them. The third vehicle was carrying a family of six: two parents and four children, including the young girl transported to Bologna.
Emergency services responded to the scene, including medical personnel from 118 with air rescue and ambulances, Local Police from Comacchio, Firefighters, and Carabinieri.
