An explosion occurred moments ago at a fireworks factory on Via Vicinale Grottole 10 in the Pianura district on the outskirts of Naples. Emergency services, including Carabinieri police, firefighters, and medical personnel, were dispatched to the scene. The initial blast ignited a fire that spread to a nearby home and the surrounding vegetation.
Authorities have denied earlier reports of one fatality and two injuries, stating that no one was involved in the initial incident. The powerful detonation was heard across a wide area of the neighborhood, causing panic and sending dozens of residents into the streets. A large column of smoke was seen rising from the site.
While emergency crews were working to extinguish the blaze, a second explosion occurred. The shock wave from this subsequent blast injured two firefighters. An ambulance was called for potential hospitalization, though the two are reported to be in good condition.
