The arrest of Aboubakar Traoré, the 28-year-old man detained yesterday at Milan’s Malpensa Airport for starting a fire and smashing monitors with a hammer in Terminal 1, has been validated. The Malian national, who holds a subsidiary protection permit, was arrested on charges of aggravated damage. This is not his first incident at the airport; on August 16th, he had attempted to board a flight to Saudi Arabia but was stopped and had his passport confiscated for being falsified. Furthermore, just last Tuesday, he was reported to Milan police for damaging a storefront with a hammer.
