Firefighters are still battling a major wildfire that ignited yesterday afternoon across the municipalities of Saint-Denis and Verrayes in the mid-Aosta Valley. The blaze, which had already forced the evacuation of residents from three homes, has now destroyed an unused stable in the Les Plans d’Agné area and a ruin at Le Gros Ollian. Firefighting efforts, now concentrated solely within Verrayes, continued throughout the night. Crews included volunteer firefighter units from various regional towns, alongside professional firefighters and personnel from the Valdostan Forestry Corps. Since dawn, two helicopters have been actively supporting the operation, with a third helicopter expected to join shortly.
