The A1 motorway has reopened to southbound traffic following a closure in both directions between Arezzo and Valdarno due to a road accident occurring around 11:30 AM. The southbound carriageway toward Rome resumed operations at approximately 3:30 PM. However, the northbound lanes toward Bologna remain closed at this time.
According to highway operator Aspi, traffic within the closed northbound section is currently blocked, resulting in 5 kilometers of queues. Additionally, a 3-kilometer backup has formed between Monte San Savino and Arezzo due to mandatory exits at Arezzo for Bologna-bound traffic. On the reopened southbound route toward Rome, vehicles are restricted to a single lane, causing 8 kilometers of congestion between Incisa and Valdarno.
