The A1 motorway linking Milan and Naples remains shut down following yesterday’s fire involving an LPG tanker, ignited by brake overheating. A 40-kilometer stretch between Orte and Rome is affected as crews complete firefighting operations and begin LPG disposal. Overnight, authorities transferred the gas to another tanker, with firefighters now conducting controlled burns of residual fuel. Additional closures include the Rome North Branch between Fiano Romano and the A1 junction, while a 15-kilometer traffic jam has formed between Orte and Orvieto.
