A murder committed for the sheer pleasure of it, comparable to a sadistic killing. This was the characterization given this morning to the Court of Assizes in Bergamo by civil party psychiatrist Massimo Biza during the trial of Moussa Sangare for the murder of Sharon Verzeni, who was killed on the night of July 30, 2024, in Terno d’Isola. “Sangare wanted to experience a strong emotion, confronting the fact of being capable of such a serious act,” stated Biza. He added that the fact Sangare had “discarded” other potential victims before targeting Sharon “demonstrates a terrifying lucidity.” Both Biza and his colleague, Sergio Monchieri, who was appointed by the Prosecutor’s Office, deemed the further investigations and exams requested by the defense’s psychological consultant, Alessandro Calvo, as superfluous. Calvo had argued that Sangare’s personality disorder would be “sufficient to compromise his mental capacity.”
