The Genoa West toll booth on the A7 Genoa-Milan highway has been closed in both directions because of a procession organized by grassroots unions “against the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip and in support of the global sumud flotilla.” ASPI announced the closure, stating that the section between the junction of the A7 with the A10 Genoa-Ventimiglia and Genoa West is blocked due to the demonstration at the barrier. Drivers approaching from Milan are advised to exit at Genoa Bolzaneto. Traffic backups of two kilometers have been reported between the A7/A12 Genoa-Livorno junction and the A7/A10 Genoa-Ventimiglia junction. The protest is causing significant disruptions to urban traffic in Genoa, especially along routes converging at the San Benigno road node.
