An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death of a 36-year-old man whose body was discovered inside a residential construction site in Vicenza, Italy. The man was residing in a first-floor apartment within the building.
According to preliminary reports, the body was found with lacerations on both arms and a deep head wound. Investigators are considering the possibility of a violent assault but have not ruled out other lines of inquiry, including a tragic accident or suicide.
Construction workers alerted emergency services around 8:00 a.m. after noticing the body on the ground, which had not been visible upon their arrival. Investigators from the Vicenza flying squad, led by Deputy Police Chief Lorenzo Ortensi, conducted the on-site investigation. The case prosecutor, Gianni Pipeschi, has ordered the autopsy, which is scheduled to be performed in the coming days.
