The Italian government’s position on Gaza is “extremely clear,” but Italy alone cannot stop the war, stated University Minister Anna Maria Bernini in Palermo. She explained that the government is trying to convey that the rationale for the intervention in Gaza is not shared by the international community, a view reportedly held by all international and multilateral institutions. Minister Bernini highlighted concrete actions being taken, including caring for children maimed by the war, providing aid through universities, guaranteeing scholarships, facilitating distance learning, and enabling student mobility to Italy. She also confirmed that academic collaborations with Israel will continue.
