A crowd of 18,000 descended upon the Nuvola at EUR in Rome for the XIV edition of the Spring Attitude Festival, which changed locations this year. Coproduced with EUR Spa, the convention center was transformed into a musical stage for two days, hosting a series of concerts and DJ sets.
The festival’s identity as a laboratory of discovery returned, blending electronic music, alternative pop, psychedelia, and singer-songwriter performances. One of the most intense and memorable moments was last night’s live set by La Niña. The highly attended performance reached emotional peaks, with both the audience and the singer-songwriter, Carola Moccia, sending a strong message in favor of a “Free Palestine.” Moccia also called for “Italy to be freed from all racism, prejudice, fascism, Italy free from this sh*t we are living in.”
Another festival peak was the performance by Giorgio Poi, who invited Luca Marinelli on stage to sing with him. The event also featured the live debut of Golden Years, with appearances by Coez, Frah Quintale, and Franco126. The returns of Apparat and Ellen Allien were also highly anticipated, enchanting the audience with their magical and evocative sets, as was the unique audiovisual experience of Bicep’s “Chroma” performance, their only Italian date.
Further energy was provided by the overwhelming live acts of L’Imperatrice, Altin Gün, and Marco Castello, among others. Simultaneously, the S/A Block Party stage on the Nuvola’s terrace showcased some of the most interesting Italian and international club acts on a dancefloor overlooking the city.
“Bringing the festival inside La Nuvola was a winning challenge,” commented Andrea Esu, artistic director of Spring Attitude. “We saw an audience ready to be swept away by artists with strong visions and by a program that mixes genres and generations without barriers. This is the meaning of Spring Attitude: to create a space where the present of music shows itself in all its urgency and offers a glimpse of the future.” For Claudio Carserá, CEO of EUR Spa, the event “demonstrates how La Nuvola, an international reference in the congress and major events sector, is also a symbol of a Rome that looks to the future and innovation.”
