Romania launched fighter jets in response to a Russian drone that breached its airspace. According to current data, the drone penetrated Romanian territory by approximately 10 kilometers and operated within the airspace of the NATO member state for nearly 50 minutes. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported the incident on Telegram, also noting that Poland initiated a military response today to the threat from Russian attack drones.
President Zelensky further stated that, according to preliminary information, Russia used Belarusian airspace the previous day to enter Ukrainian airspace in the direction of the Volyn region.
“The Russian military knows exactly where its drones are headed and for how long they can remain in flight. The routes are always calculated. This cannot be an accident, a mistake, or the amateurish actions of some low-level commander. This is Russia’s obvious expansion of the war, and that is exactly what it is doing. First small steps and, in the end, major losses,” Zelensky emphasized.
