24th Edition of Fabrizio De André ‘Parlare Musica’ Award Returns to Rome

The 24th edition of the Fabrizio De André ‘Parlare Musica’ Award is set to take place in Rome’s Magliana district, in the piazza that has borne the Genoese singer-songwriter’s name since 2002. “There, in the outskirts, where his most devoted fans lived,” said Dori Ghezzi, president of the Fabrizio De André Foundation and the artist’s lifelong partner.

For years, the award has aimed to promote creativity and originality in new Italian artistic productions across music, poetry, and painting.

Luca Marinelli and Mauro Pagani are slated to receive the 2025 ‘Targa Faber’ (Lifetime Achievement Award). Marinelli will also be honored with the ‘Targa Quelli che cantano Fabrizio’ (Award for the Reinterpretation of Fabrizio’s Work), which he will share with artists Bresh and The Andre. “We had also extended an invitation to Olly,” added Dori Ghezzi, “who, like Bresh, brought Fabrizio’s music to the stage during the cover night at the latest Sanremo Festival. I did not want to choose one over the other and appreciated the sentiment of unity, especially in these times of war. However, we do not yet know if Olly will be able to join us.”

During the final ceremony, Luca Marinelli and The Andre will perform together and, along with Bresh, will be accompanied by Fabrizio De André’s historic backing band.

The event will also feature other special guests alongside the ten young finalists in the music category: Antonio Rezza and Flavia Mestrella, Andrea Rivera, Santoianni (last year’s winner in the music category), and Marcondiro and Nour Eddine (winners of the Amnesty International Award).

Hosted by Paolo Talanca, the two-day event will also crown the winners in the painting and poetry sections: Luli, for painting, with the work “Il Volo” (The Flight), and Elena, for poetry, with the work “Nackt und Kleinkind (nude and infant).” The award received over 1,000 submissions across its three categories (Music, Painting, and Poetry), which were judged by a panel of experts.
