Judicial documents concerning the case of an assistant parish priest from Stradella (Pavia) in the Oltrepò Pavese area, who was beaten by a youth gang Friday evening in his parish oratory, will be transmitted to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Milan Juvenile Court. Carabinieri police have identified four of the youths, aged between 15 and 17, who burst into the parish facility and shoved and punched 40-year-old priest Don Daniele Lottari. The group was reportedly led by a 17-year-old girl.
Investigative sources specify that, in the absence of a formal complaint from the victim, no legal measures can be taken against the four minors. This is considered a probable outcome, as Don Daniele has urged the citizens of Stradella to maintain an understanding and welcoming attitude towards youths he himself described as “fragile” and in need of help.
