A new chartered technical high school named after Carlo Acutis was inaugurated in Milan today in the presence of the Italian Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara.
Scheduled to open next week, the school will host approximately 40 students divided into two classes. It is named for the young man proclaimed a saint by Pope Leo XIV and recognized by the Church as the “patron saint of the internet” for his commitment to spreading the Gospel through new technologies.
The school will launch with two specialized study paths: one in information technology with a primary focus on skills related to the development and ethical use of artificial intelligence, and another oriented toward the world of graphics and communication, with a specific inclination toward design and digital communication.
“Here lies the future for so many young men and women,” commented Minister Valditara. “These schools and these models of training and education offer extraordinary opportunities.”
He concluded, “Let us all help young people and their parents understand that the school system has been enriched with many professional skills, experiences, and opportunities. Imagination in their choice can sometimes be decisive, especially when it is consistent with each young person’s talents. The future is here.”
