A helicopter conducting a waste transport operation from the “Mantova” refuge to Vioz in Val di Peio was forced to execute a precautionary landing. The H125 aircraft, operated by the Helicopter Unit of Trento’s Permanent Fire Department, lost part of its cargo during the operation. Thanks to the pilot’s promptness and professionalism, the maneuver was handled safely and without further complications.
The helicopter landed in the Dos dei Cimbri area, where it is now being guarded by volunteers from the Peio Fire Department. In accordance with standard safety procedures, the technical issue necessitated the immediate suspension of the flight. Technical inspections are currently underway to assess any potential damage to the aircraft and to facilitate its return to base.
The Helicopter Unit of the Trento Permanent Fire Department routinely performs complex and demanding tasks in service of the local community. High-altitude transport operations are among the periodic logistical support services it provides.
