London’s Heathrow Airport has evacuated Terminal 4 due to a leak of hazardous materials, according to a report from Sky News. Emergency services are on the scene. The evacuation of Terminal 4—one of the airport’s five terminals—was ordered after a column of smoke was seen emerging from the building in media footage. A spokesperson for Heathrow, Europe’s busiest airport and the largest of the six in the London area, confirmed passengers were moved outside as a precaution over the suspected leak of dangerous substances. As a further precautionary measure, trains serving the airport are currently bypassing the affected terminal. Several ambulances, fire engines, and specialist teams have also been deployed to the area.
