MONZA, Italy – Red Bull’s Max Verstappen secured a commanding victory at the Italian Grand Prix, finishing ahead of the McLaren duo of Lando Norris in second and Oscar Piastri in third. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, last year’s winner, took fourth place, followed by Mercedes’ George Russell in fifth and the other Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton in sixth.
The Dutch driver dominated the race from start to finish, claiming the 66th victory of his career and his third at the historic Monza circuit. He crossed the finish line with a massive lead of nearly twenty seconds over his closest competitors. A late pit stop issue cost Norris his second-place position, allowing teammate Piastri to briefly overtake him. However, the Australian championship leader later yielded the position back to Norris.
The points-scoring positions were rounded out by Alex Albon (Williams) in seventh, Gabriel Bortoleto (Kick Sauber) in eighth, Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) in ninth, and Isaack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) in tenth.
