The Israel Defense Forces announced it had targeted the Al-Ruya tower in Gaza City, a building for which it had previously issued an evacuation order. In a post on the social media platform X, the IDF stated it “struck a high-rise building used by the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza City area,” and published a map identifying the specific tower.
The military claims terrorists had installed data collection equipment and established observation posts within the building to monitor the movements of Israeli troops in the area. Furthermore, the IDF alleged that Hamas operplaced numerous explosive devices near the building. The statement concluded by saying measures were taken prior to the attack to minimize potential harm to civilians.
